Survival foods, Emergency kits and other Disaster supplies
on May 19th, 2012 at 2:04 pmThe more I see the news and especially after some disaster strikes, I see an awful lot of people left homeless and sometimes completely at the mercy of the elements. Red Cross is there with emergency help and then a few days later the community comes together and the people who didn’t get a direct hit start to help others. it makes me wonder why some of the people didn’t prepare better.
Some simply things to have are Emergency Kits. These can be purchased already put together in a back pack form with everything you need to survive in your car, for instance for days. They’re also available in family size.
Another thing that I do, and everyone can do, is every time I go to Sam’s Club I buy extra items that can be stored for a long time. I just keep storing these survival foods in my garage because I know my family and I will need them soon.
I am also planning to get some seed packs to keep for a garden if it becomes necessary. I have posted more information here and several links along the side bar to give you access to survival foods and supplies or you may find your own source but please don’t procrastinate to long. As I’ve said in other posts, the Government is buying up all the disaster supplies it can , leaving a much smaller and more expensive supply for the rest of us which tells me they know something is happening and are getting prepared.
Another good thing to have is fire wood or another means to cook your food [charcoal. solar cooker, etc.] plus a way to purify water because if the grid goes down there will be no pumps to give us water and we may have to use creek water. Again, check out the links on this blog for all the things you need but at least start getting prepared.
